Dr. Chong Ka Lung ialah pakar oftalmologi dan pakar bedah vitreoretinal (Subspesialis) yang diperakui oleh lembaga dengan pengalaman klinikal hampir dua dekad, baik dalam sistem penjagaan kesihatan awam Malaysia mahupun di peringkat antarabangsa di Australia. Beliau berkelulusan MBBS dari Universiti Perubatan Antarabangsa dan kemudiannya memperoleh Sarjana Oftalmologi dari Universiti Malaya.
Dr. Chong menamatkan latihan subspesialisasinya dalam pembedahan vitreoretinal di bawah Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (CCFT) dan di Kumpulan Hospital Fiona Stanley–Fremantle di Australia. Sepanjang kerjayanya, beliau telah berkhidmat di 12 hospital awam di pelbagai negeri, termasuk Sarawak, Sabah, Pulau Pinang, Kelantan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, dan Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya (UMMC).
Beliau juga merupakan Penilai Kecacatan Perubatan (NIOSH) yang diperakui dan sebelum ini memegang keahlian dengan Kolej Pakar Oftalmologi Diraja Australia dan New Zealand (RANZCO). Semasa di Australia, beliau berkhidmat sebagai tutor klinikal untuk pelatih RANZCO, menyelia amalan klinikal dan latihan pembedahan. Beliau kini merupakan ahli Cawangan Retina Akademi Perubatan Malaysia.
Selain kerja klinikalnya, Dr. Chong komited terhadap khidmat masyarakat. Beliau mengasaskan Persatuan Orang Buta Bintulu untuk memperkasakan individu cacat penglihatan ke arah kehidupan berdikari. Beliau juga terlibat secara aktif dalam penyelidikan dan telah mengarang beberapa penerbitan dalam jurnal tempatan dan antarabangsa, yang memberi tumpuan kepada penyakit retina dan keadaan oftalmik yang jarang berlaku.

I sent my father to Sena Specialist Hospital Segamat for cataract surgery. I must say I was quite impressed with their level of service, professionalism and hygiene standards. First of all, the interior design of this hospital is on par with many international standard hospitals that I have visited. The look and feel make the patient and caregiver feel comfortable. The toilet was clean and conducive for use by wheelchair-bound and elderly patients. My father was attended to by Dr Chong Ka Lung who performed the cataract surgery. I appreciate his professionalism in attending to my advanced age dad. His explanation was simple and he answered my queries attentively. I was also pleased with the level of service provided by the Ophthalmology Clinic nurses. From my conversation and interactions with them, the staff display commendable level of care, compassion and empathy. I was most impressed when their customer service staff sent my father on a wheelchair to our car. This is a noble act of pure compassion and high standard of customer service.
